I like people with depth, I like people with emotion, I like people with a strong mind, an INTERESTING mind, a twisted mind, and also people that can make me smile

— The Twisted Mind of Zdzisław Beksiński

“I like people with depth, I like people with emotion, I like people with a strong mind, an INTERESTING mind, a twisted mind, and also people that can make me smile.”

That pretty much sums up the kind of people I like to surround myself with. The more offbeat you are, the better I like you. And I happen to like my art the same way. Que Zdzisław Beksińsi. (If you’re the kind of person that likes to indulge in the TWISTED arts every now and again, you’re going to thank me in a minute.)

Beksiński was a polish painter, sculptor, and photographer best known for his Gothic art and nightmarish depictions of catastrophic landscapes and bizarre imagery. All of his paintings remained untitled and no interpretation of them was ever given by the artist from the time of their inception to his gruesome murder in 2005. Yeah, you read that right. Let’s just say that the life and death of Zdzisław Beksińsi was just about as fascinating and contradicting as the nightmarescapes in his art.

Is it weird that I want to hang his paintings in my house? *shrugs*

No. Not weird at all. I love them. Thanks for bringing this artist to my attention. 🙂
