Swooshing Deadlines

“I love deadlines. I love the whooshing sound they make as they go by.”
~ Douglas Adams

Ain’t that the truth.

I set my first-ever deadline for my book last month. August 20th was going to be the magical date that I completed the first draft of my first novel. I was pumped. I was excited. I was ready to conquer the world. And then life happened. It seemed like everyone and everything was conspiring against me. Work, server crashes, weather, family problems. Even inanimate objects were suspect. Okay, maybe not the last one but almost. I swear the corner of my bed purposedly stubbed my toe that one time.

So anyway…the deadline came and went. It made a beautiful swooshing noise as it swept by, and I did rather enjoy the sound. September 20th is the new due date and I’m going to stick to it come hell or high water. Or a zombie apocalypse.

Peace & Love
